Masala Dosa

Masala Dosa


• 1 sprig coriander leaves
• 3 tsp cooking oil (groundnut, gingelly, palm olein, mustard, coconut etc)
• 1 dosa batter
• ¼ tsp mustard seeds
• ¼ tsp whole cumin seeds
• ¼ tsp hing
• ¼ cup chopped raw onion
• 2 small boiled potato
• 1 tsp salt
• ¼ tsp ground turmeric
• 1 green chilli
• 1 sprig curry leaves
• ¼ tbsp black gram dal


1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them splutter.
2. Add black gram dal, curry leaves, hing and fry for a minute.
3. Add chopped green chilli, onion, turmeric powder and cook until onion turns light brown.
4. Mix in mashed boiled potato, chopped coriander leaves, salt until well combined and cook for 2-3 minutes.
5. Heat a non-stick tawa, pour a ladleful of batter and spread in a circular motion.
6. Drizzle few drops of oil along the edges of dosa and cook until edges turn light brown.
7. Spread potato mixture evenly on one side of dosa or in center as per preference.
8. Fold into half or roll it up and cook for another couple of minutes.
9. Repeat the same with remaining batter and serve hot.
